What is CHEK?
CHEK — Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology — is a multidisciplinary approach to working with yourself, your clients, and your patients. It integrates corrective exercise, nutrition, lifestyle coaching, and psychological principles into a unified clinical framework. Where most exercise and rehab systems address the musculoskeletal level in isolation, CHEK works from the understanding that structure is downstream of chemistry, chemistry is downstream of neurology, and neurology is downstream of the whole-person.
Matt Sorensen has been part of the CHEK Faculty for over a decade, teaching across Australia and internationally. Heal Hub is a CHEK Hub of Australia — a registered affiliate location for CHEK courses and mentorship.
"CHEK education gave me the foundation to ask the right questions about the body. The Sorensen Method™ is where those questions led — into the visceral, autonomic, and emotional dimensions that CHEK points toward but doesn't teach in depth."
— Matthew Sorensen
How CHEK and the Sorensen Method™ work together
CHEK provides the movement science, nutritional, and lifestyle foundation. The Sorensen Method™ extends it into the visceral and autonomic territory — the internal maintaining mechanisms that drive the musculoskeletal compensations CHEK teaches you to identify.
A CHEK practitioner who completes the Sorensen Method™ Level One course gains the clinical tools to answer the question CHEK raises but doesn't fully resolve: why does the structural compensation keep returning even when the exercise programming and lifestyle factors are correct?
CHEK provides
The structural and lifestyle foundation
Movement assessment, corrective exercise, nutrition principles, lifestyle coaching, and the psychological maps (4 Doctors, zone exercises, archetypes). The whole-person approach to human performance and health.
Sorensen Method™ adds
The visceral and autonomic dimension
Why the structural compensation is being maintained by an internal vascular, neural, or visceral pattern. The Clinical Priority Framework, bilateral BP assessment, the VAEI™ loop, and visceral manual therapy protocols for the presentations CHEK identifies but can't fully resolve.
A consistent clinical observation from CHEK practitioners who add the Sorensen Method™: after addressing the primary vascular or visceral maintaining mechanism, the CHEK movement corrections hold. Exercise programs that previously produced slow results begin working as intended. The structural work was always appropriate — the maintaining mechanism was what needed to be addressed first.
The two frameworks are not competing — they are sequential. CHEK is the map. The Sorensen Method™ is what happens when you follow the map into the territory it points to but doesn't enter.
